BDO and Predict Target US$2.6bn Business Mobile Overspend

BDO LLP, one of the UK’s leading accountancy and business advisory firms, has partnered strategically with Predict Mobile to deliver data-led, impartial advisory services across the business mobile communications landscape. The alliance aims to reshape how UK organisations approach mobile procurement, cost management and risk mitigation.
With 8,000 employees across 18 UK offices, BDO’s client base spans ambitious, high-growth businesses—what the firm describes as the “UK’s economic engine.” BDO extends its reach into the telecommunications space through the new partnership, working with Predict to address longstanding inefficiencies and overspending in business mobile contracts.
Targeting overspend in business mobile
Predict Mobile, a Dundee-based independent adviser in the business mobile market, estimates UK organisations may overspend on mobile services by more than US$2.6bn annually. Through a combination of mobile industry expertise and AI-driven analytics, Predict enables businesses to optimise their mobile spend and gain visibility into usage patterns.
Colin Loveday, CEO and Founder of Predict, stated:
“We estimate that UK businesses could be overspending by more than US$2.6bn a year on their mobile communication services, so the scope to help BDO clients is immense.
Working together, we can extend the 52% average cost savings we have helped businesses achieve and provide organisations with a proven and sustainable solution as a combined force for good in this challenging service market.”
Since launching its commercial-grade platform in late 2022, Predict has helped clients save a combined US$4.6. Predict remains unaffiliated with mobile network operators, enabling it to provide fully independent advice based on hard data rather than commercial bias.
Delivering transparency, control and measurable savings
Miles Hewitt-Boorman, Partner at BDO, commented:
“Our partnership with Predict demonstrates BDO’s commitment to bringing new and innovative solutions to clients.
"Our simple joint approach breaks down barriers to effective business mobile procurement and ongoing cost management, enabling clients to extract maximum value from their spend.”
Predict’s AI-powered tools allow businesses to precisely calculate mobile needs, run tenders and source tailored solutions—all through the UK’s first B2B comparison platform for business mobile. The process enables organisations to move beyond generic contract offerings to secure deals that align with actual operational demands.
A scalable solution
While the partnership brings immediate benefits to mid-sized and large organisations, both BDO and Predict stress that their joint solution is equally relevant to small businesses and enterprises across all sectors.
Simon Gallagher, Head of Consulting at BDO, added:
“Our relationship with Predict will further expand the portfolio of services we can offer and will be hugely valuable to our client base.”
The long-term objective is to offer impartial, scalable services that deliver lasting improvements in procurement outcomes. By blending consultancy and technology, BDO and Predict aim to shift mobile communications from a cost burden to a managed strategic asset.
As businesses in the UK seek greater resilience and efficiency in their digital operations, the BDO–Predict partnership provides a timely and necessary service. By harnessing data and market insight, the alliance offers a unique proposition to businesses looking to reduce mobile costs, improve service quality and mitigate risk, without compromising performance.
