David Fuller Returns to Oversee TELUS’s Core Telecom Units

Canadian telco TELUS Corporation has announced a reshuffle of its executive team as part of a larger reorganisation of its core telecoms business. This is intended to streamline operations, focus resources on high-margin products and deliver enhanced service to customers.

Three changes to its executive leaders will happen on 1 September 2026:

• David Fuller is rejoining the company as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Group President of TELUS Communications.
• Navin Arora will become EVP and Group President, Global Platform Businesses.
• Zainul Mawji, Executive Vice President, TELUS Consumer Solutions, will leave after spending more than 20 years at the company.

Unified telecom core under Fuller

David will oversee the newly consolidated telecom business, which integrates the previously separate Consumer Solutions and Business Solutions portfolios into a single division.

He brings extensive Canadian telecommunications experience to the unified role, having previously spent around 15 years at the operator in various senior leadership positions, including Executive Vice-President and President of TELUS Consumer and Small Business Solutions.

David's career also includes a tenure as President of Rogers Wireless from 2021 to 2022 and as a Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group.

Before his return, David worked as an Operating Partner at Searchlight Capital Partners, focusing on technology and telecoms, while also serving on the boards of Fidium Fiber and KORE Wireless.

CEO outlines transformation strategy

President and CEO Victor Dodig described the restructuring as an essential first step in adapting to rapid changes across the wider telecommunications sector.

Strategic expansion in global platforms

In his new capacity, Navin will oversee the operations of TELUS Health, TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods and TELUS Digital Solutions.

He will also take charge of enterprise corporate strategy, corporate development, data centre strategy and the corporate venture capital arm, TELUS Global Ventures.

Navin has held progressive leadership roles across the consumer, business and diversified sectors of the company since joining in 1999.

Most recently, as President of TELUS Business Solutions, TELUS Health, TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods and TELUS Partner Solutions, he managed a global team of more than 20,000 members.

Victor says that he is “excited to see Navin assume a critical new role driving value from our global platform businesses and leading our enterprise corporate strategy, ventures, and corporate development functions”.

“In addition to his leadership of our Health and Agriculture and Consumer Goods Business today, Navin will take on the leadership of Digital Solutions pursuing business opportunities across all three of our global platform businesses,” he adds.

Transitions and legacy achievements

Zainul leaves TELUS after 25 years of service during which she spearheaded several major expansion initiatives, including the rollout of the PureFibre network and Optik TV.

“Zainul’s leadership of the Mobility and Home Solutions business generated accomplishments across many critical programs for TELUS, such as our PureFibre expansion and delivery of consumer products for our residential, security, automation and health lines of business,” says Victor.
