The Irish core network software provider has added the Munich-based RAN specialist's team and IP to boost its private 4G and 5G network capacity

Druid Software, a company specialising in private cellular networks, has acquired Node-H’s team and intellectual property assets. Node-H is a Munich-based specialist in Radio Access Network software and User Equipment technologies.

The transaction, announced on 7 July 2026, brings experienced software engineers into the Irish company and adds RAN-related software expertise and IP to Druid's private networks portfolio.

This move significantly expands Druid's engineering capacity at a time of strong demand for private 4G and 5G networks across enterprise, industrial, public safety and mission-critical environments.

"Bringing the Node-H team into Druid gives us additional, extremely valuable experience and software engineering talent, with deep knowledge of private cellular networks," says Liam Kenny, CEO of Druid Software.

"Our priority is to keep delivering for customers and partners as demand for private 4G and 5G continues to grow. This acquisition increases our capacity, strengthens our technical depth and helps us accelerate the development of a more unified, easier-to-manage private network platform."

Building deeper RAN integration

The deal gives Druid additional technical depth in RAN-related software, enabling closer integration with existing RAN partners while maintaining the company's focus on core network software and private network solutions.

The acquired IP will support Druid's ongoing development of its unified management platform, helping customers and partners simplify the deployment, operation and lifecycle management of private networks across multi-vendor environments.

Expanding engineering capacity

The Node-H acquisition brings experienced cellular software engineers into Druid, increasing the company's ability to meet current customer demands and support future product development.

The addition of the team will support Druid's current and near-term customer and partner commitments, while strengthening the company's ability to develop, integrate and support more advanced private network deployments.

"Node-H has built deep expertise in specialised cellular software, and we are pleased that our team and technology will now become part of Druid," says Mike Cronin, CEO of Node-H.

"Druid has a strong position in private networks, and we look forward to contributing to the next stage of its growth."

Creating ecosystem collaboration opportunities

Selected Node-H IP assets may be made available to other O-RAN and RAN ecosystem companies, creating opportunities for licensing and collaboration across the private networks market.

Druid Software is headquartered in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, and provides specialised core network software. It has deployed thousands of networks globally.

The company's cellular technology platform, Raemis, is a 3GPP-compliant 4G/5G core network designed for enterprise critical communications. In 2021, Juniper Research recognised Druid as an established leader within the private networks sector.

Back in November 2025, Druid announced that it had formed a strategic partnership with Heddian, an integrated communications solution vendor specialising in serving power companies, to extend its reach into this vertical market and offer 4G and 5G connectivity solutions tailored to its requirements.

Continuing the trend towards consolidation

This latest news follows on from several similar announcements in the private network vendor space.

In February 2026, Firecell and Accelleran announced that they were merging to create a complete private 5G solution.

The month before, Boldyn Networks said that it had agreed to acquire Smart Mobile Labs (SML), a German vendor specialising in bespoke private 5G networks and turnkey applications.

Looking further back, there was also the purchase of private network core software company Athonet by HPE, which completed in June 2023.
