Telefónica Tech UK&I partners with Netskope to offer managed Security Service Edge, aiming to support secure, cloud-first business transformation

Telefónica Tech UK&I has rolled out a new managed Security Service Edge (SSE) offering across the UK and Ireland.

Built on Netskope technology, the Telefónica Tech Security Edge service supports businesses as they adopt hybrid and cloud-first infrastructure, enabling employees to access applications and data securely from any location.

The managed service delivers Netskope’s AI-led SSE tools through the Netskope One platform, which merges network, security and analytics services.

This supports secure connectivity and real-time threat protection while improving performance for users working across locations, systems and cloud environments.

The service runs from Telefónica Tech’s Security Operation Centres (SOCs), where qualified experts hold the highest-level Netskope certifications.

From here, Telefónica Tech provides customers with consultancy, security management, administration and incident response. The goal is to strengthen cyber resilience and reduce risk without adding operational complexity

Secure, scalable access built for cloud-first needs

Netskope One applies a zero trust approach, which assumes no user or device is trusted by default.

Every access request is evaluated in context, helping businesses control who accesses data, where and how.

The platform combines this with AI-led threat detection and performance monitoring.

This lets companies handle modern workloads across cloud, SaaS and mobile environments, without degrading speed or increasing latency.

For organisations balancing performance with protection, it offers a single solution to reduce the overhead of fragmented tools.

Ed Tucker, Cyber Security Practice Director at Telefónica Tech UK&I, says: “Telefónica Tech partners with Netskope around the world and this latest managed service launch for UK and Ireland customers is testament to the appeal of the service in other markets and the demand from local organisations.

“The Security Edge services enables us to assist customers by optimising their IT performance through frictionless collaboration, unlock the power of data and ensure they put in place world-class cyber security solutions.

“By offering Netskope One as a managed service we are even better placed to help in all these goals.”

The offering is designed for companies handling distributed workforces, adopting AI or moving to cloud-first models.

Telefónica Tech’s team provides wraparound services for deployment, monitoring and support, helping clients get value from SSE without needing internal security specialists.

Simplifying adoption of Security Service Edge

Security Service Edge refers to the delivery of security functions directly at the edge of the network, close to the point where users connect.

It includes secure web gateways, cloud access security brokers (CASB), zero trust network access and data loss prevention.

These functions protect data in motion and at rest, guard against threats and enforce policies based on identity, device and location.

Telefónica Tech offers these capabilities in a single managed service, removing the need for businesses to integrate and operate multiple systems.

Colette Kitterhing, Netskope Vice President UKI

Colette Kitterhing, Netskope's Vice President for UKI, says: “Organisations across the UK and Ireland look to implement modern data security, advance their AI roadmaps and preserve the speed and performance essential to modern business operations.

“Working with Telefónica Tech UK&I to offer the Netskope One platform as a managed service, we are able to support British and and Irish businesses to avoid the traditional trade-offs between security and performance.”

As the SSE market grows, customers face more pressure to secure hybrid cloud environments without slowing down innovation or user experience. Telefónica Tech positions this service as a direct answer to that demand.

Market recognition and future alignment

Netskope earns consistent recognition for its role in cloud and AI security.

In 2025, it secured a leadership spot in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for both Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Secure Service Edge (SSE) platforms.

Gartner identifies strengths in areas including performance, data protection and scalability.

Through this partnership, Telefónica Tech UK&I expands its managed cyber security portfolio.

The launch aligns with its wider approach to support organisations through cloud migration, AI development and network modernisation, helping UK and Irish businesses reduce risk while keeping systems agile.

By combining a global security platform with local delivery and support, Telefónica Tech UK&I provides a service that meets growing security needs across digital business environments.
