Infosys and Telstra launch a joint venture with Versent to boost AI, cloud and digital transformation, reshaping Australia’s telecom and enterprise market

Infosys, a next-generation digital services and consulting firm and Telstra, Australia’s leading telecommunications and technology company, have announced a joint venture that will accelerate AI-enabled cloud and digital solutions for Australian enterprises. The collaboration signals a significant step in both companies’ long-term strategy to support businesses navigating rapid technological change.

As part of the agreement, Infosys will acquire a 75% stake in Versent Group, a wholly owned Telstra subsidiary and leading provider of digital transformation solutions.

Telstra will retain a 25% minority interest, illustrating its confidence in the venture’s potential. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second half of FY 2026.

Versent Group’s role in strengthening the alliance

Versent Group brings deep expertise in cloud-native engineering and digital transformation. With 650 engineers, advisors and strategists, it has a reputation for delivering outcomes for large blue-chip organisations across government, education, finance, energy and utilities.

For Australian businesses, the joint venture promises access to advanced AI tools, enhanced cybersecurity and end-to-end digital transformation pathways tailored to local and regional needs.

The Infosys–Telstra joint venture goes beyond a shareholding transaction. It makes a bold play to fuse global innovation with local expertise as Australian enterprises face pressure to modernise, digitise and secure their operations.
