Redefining procurement with intelligence and purpose

Karl's appointment at an AI-native company focused on creating faster and fairer supply chains through data and partnerships could be seen as a bellwether for the future of procurement.

It suggests a move away from traditional efficiency and cost-based models towards a more intelligent and purpose-driven approach.

The move is particularly relevant for the telecommunications industry, where complex global supply chains and rapid technological advancements are the norm.

In his own announcement of the move, Karl says: "I’m excited to share that I’ve joined HUMAIN as Chief Procurement Officer & Senior Vice President. The next era of procurement and supply management is now about to be redefined: From efficient to intelligent, from cost-driven to purpose-driven. The new role places Karl at the centre of intellectual innovation in procurement, leveraging AI to reshape supply chain processes globally.

His extensive background in the telco sector, combined with HUMAIN's focus on AI, could provide a template for how telecommunications companies approach procurement strategy in the future.

As Karl himself concludes: "I thank everyone who has been part of my journey up to this point. I’m just getting started!"
