ResetData taps Nokia to power Australia's first sovereign AI Factory data centres, cutting routing energy use by 75% with FP5 silicon technology

ResetData has selected Nokia to deliver a high-performance networking backbone for Australia's first sovereign, sustainable AI Factory data centre infrastructure. The strategic partnership supports the immediate rollout of ResetData's liquid immersion-cooled facilities across the country, with the initial deployment commencing in Melbourne's Central Business District.

A milestone for sovereign and sustainable AI in Australia

The collaboration comes at a time when Australia's cloud services market is experiencing rapid expansion, having grown 19% year-on-year in 2024. ResetData is positioning itself at the forefront of this growth by delivering AI cloud operations designed for sustainability, sovereignty and performance.

ResetData's AI Factory concept combines liquid immersion cooling with sovereign infrastructure design, ensuring that systems and data remain under Australian jurisdiction.

The data centres are up to 10 times more efficient than traditional facilities and can reduce emissions by as much as 45% while cutting operating costs by 40%.

High-performance routing backbone with reduced environmental impact

To support these next-generation data centres, ResetData is deploying Nokia's 7750 Service Router powered by the FP5 network processor.

The FP5 platform delivers ultra-low latency, lossless performance and robust security at scale while offering a 75% reduction in energy consumption compared to previous routing technologies.

Acting as a data centre gateway, the Nokia 7750 SR-1x enables seamless connectivity between ResetData's GPU clusters and external networks. The router provides routing speeds of up to 800Gb/s and meets the strict requirements of precision timing critical for AI, machine learning and large language model workloads.

Karl Kloppenborg, Chief Technology Officer at ResetData

Karl Kloppenborg, Chief Technology Officer at ResetData, commented, "We are moving quickly because sovereign AI is critical to Australia's international competitiveness.

"With the ResetData AI Marketplace, our rollout delivers critical AI, machine learning and large language model capabilities on-shore and on-demand for the first time.

"To make it happen, we needed a partner as committed to sustainability as we are, with local resourcing and global reach, who could meet a demanding timeline, scale from single GPUs to entire AI Factories and replicate Melbourne's launch nationally. Nokia has been a core partner at every step."

Supporting a scalable, national AI infrastructure

Centuria Capital Group, a prominent Australasian real estate investment firm, supports Resetdata's expansion. Commercial properties across Australia are prepared to host the new AI Factory installations, which will serve a range of enterprise and government clients seeking sustainable, high-performance AI solutions within Australian borders.

Vach Kompella, Senior Vice President and General Manager of IP Networks at Nokia

Nokia's role in the rollout reflects its broader commitment to sustainable network innovation and its reputation as a trusted partner for emerging cloud-native infrastructure providers.

Vach Kompella, Senior Vice President and General Manager of IP Networks at Nokia, said, "As dynamic new-generation cloud builders like ResetData seize the opportunities that artificial intelligence generates, Nokia is ready with an IP portfolio primed for AI infrastructure's stringent and exacting data demands.

"Combining speed, capacity and reliability with cost-efficiency and sustainability, Nokia IP is a top choice for the world's most modern and secure data centres. We are pleased to partner with ResetData as they deliver Australia's first sovereign AI at scale."

A shared vision for the future of AI networking

The partnership between Nokia and ResetData demonstrates the growing importance of secure, sovereign and sustainable infrastructure for AI.

With a backbone capable of scaling from single GPU installations to fully integrated AI Factories, the initiative sets a new benchmark for cloud and data centre operators across the Asia-Pacific region.

Nokia's technology will play a central role in ensuring ResetData's AI infrastructure meets the high scalability, performance and sustainability expectations demanded by enterprise customers and regulatory frameworks.
