AT&T and T-Mobile deploy 5G, edge networks and data links to support Red Bull Racing, fan apps, drones and first responder communications
Among the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, T-Mobile and AT&T turned the city streets into a live 5G demonstration.
T-Mobile used private networks and edge technology to operate drones, broadcast cameras and deliver interactive fan apps.
AT&T’s FirstNet network and high-speed data links kept Oracle Red Bull Racing and first responders fully connected.
The event became a real-time test of connectivity, showing how telcos can deliver ultra-fast, always-on networks for global sports and entertainment events.
