Temix and PTIT Launch Vietnam-Italy Telecom, Space Hub

An advanced design centre dedicated to telecommunications and aerospace technologies launched in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 4 September, marking a major step forward in Vietnam-Italy collaboration on high-tech research and industrial development. The initiative was formalised during the Vietnam-Italy Business Forum, where senior government representatives and diplomatic officials witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the hub.
The signing ceremony included Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Finance Ho Sy Hung, Deputy Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Valentino Valentini and Italian Ambassador Marco della Seta, highlighting the strategic importance of this cross-border partnership.
Temix Group Leads Industrial Collaboration
The centre will be led by Italy’s Temix Group, a well-established company operating in satellite communications, defence and aerospace sectors. Hosted at Hanoi’s Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT).
PTIT will contribute a dedicated facility and provide coordination among local researchers and professionals who will work alongside Temix’s international experts. The collaboration illustrates the fusion of Vietnam’s academic excellence with Italian industrial know-how.
Aligning with Vietnam’s National Science and Technology Strategy
The new design centre aligns with Vietnam’s national strategy highlighting science, technology and digital transformation, particularly prioritising satellite research and manufacturing development.
“The collaboration with Temix consolidates technology transfer and creates new professional opportunities for our researchers, strengthening Vietnam’s positioning in the global space industry.”
Dang added that the centre builds upon years of educational and research ties between PTIT and Temix, including scholarship programmes supporting Vietnamese students studying advanced telecommunications engineering in Italy.
Enhancing research and training capabilities
Temix Group outlined the centre’s mission to expand multidisciplinary research and design services in telecommunications and aerospace across Asia and the Middle East.
The initiative will accelerate technology transfer efforts, fostering training opportunities for emerging telecommunications and aerospace engineers in Vietnam. The efforts aim to boost the country’s indigenous capabilities in satellite design and aerospace systems, supporting Vietnam’s ambitions in both sectors.
Armando Caravella, founder and president of Temix Group, highlighted the strategic importance of the investment:
“This centre enhances synergies between our international expertise and Vietnamese academic excellence.”
Broader industrial consolidation and partnerships
The new hub forms a key pillar of Temix Group’s broader industrial strategy in Vietnam, focusing on deepening strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions and public and private sector stakeholders.
The partnership model aims not only to drive research innovation but to position Vietnam as a regional force in high-tech telecom and aerospace manufacturing, contributing to both countries' economic and technological development goals.
The development represents an important step for Vietnam’s telecommunications and aerospace industries amid growing regional demand for advanced satellite and digital infrastructure solutions. The combination of robust academic foundations, international industrial expertise and governmental support aims to accelerate Vietnam’s role in the global space and telecom ecosystem.
