Vodafone Builds Logistics Hub with CFL in Luxembourg

Vodafone has reached a significant milestone in its supply chain transformation with the commencement of construction on its new pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg.
Marked by installing the first structural column, the state-of-the-art 36,000m² facility aims to become operational in early 2026.
The initiative is a strategic move to centralise and modernise Vodafone’s European logistics, offering telecommunications businesses and partners a glimpse into the future of efficient, sustainable supply chain management.
Centralising logistics for enhanced efficiency
Vodafone’s new logistics hub will be managed by Vodafone Procure & Connect, which will oversee all European stock from a single, centralised location.
By design, the consolidation simplifies Vodafone’s European warehouse footprint, allowing for streamlined supplier collaboration and improved demand forecasting.
By integrating advanced digital tools, Vodafone aims to optimise delivery timelines, reduce operational complexity and drive efficiency across its European markets.
Ninian Wilson, CEO of Vodafone Procure & Connect, emphasises the project’s broader impact.
“Setting the first column into the ground is a powerful symbol of progress, not just in the physical construction of the hub but in the way we are reshaping logistics for the future,” he says.
“Standardisation, efficiency and sustainability are at the heart of this initiative, ensuring a smarter and more agile supply chain for Vodafone and its customers across Europe.”
Commitment to sustainability and innovation
Sustainability is a cornerstone of the new logistics hub, which is being developed in close partnership with MG Real Estate.
The facility targets achieving BREEAM Outstanding certification, a benchmark that reflects Vodafone’s commitment to environmental responsibility throughout its supply chain operations.
Innovative and sustainable building practices are being integrated from the ground up, positioning the hub as one of Europe’s most advanced and eco-friendly logistics centres.
Ignace De Paepe, President of MG Real Estate, says: “This development marks more than just the construction of a new logistics hub; it represents a shared vision between MG Real Estate and Vodafone to set new benchmarks in sustainability and innovation.
"We are proud to mark this milestone with the placement of the first MG column and look forward to seeing this future-proof hub take shape in the months ahead.”
Strategic partnerships to drive operational excellence
Vodafone has appointed CFL Logistics, a subsidiary of CFL Multimodal, as its logistics partner to ensure optimal warehouse management and inventory tracking.
CFL logistics will provide customised systems tailored to Vodafone’s requirements, supporting the integration of digital tools that support its supply chain transformation.
Luxembourg: A strategic location for growth
The decision to establish the logistics hub in Luxembourg demonstrates the country’s growing reputation as a centre for sustainable and innovative logistics in Europe.
At the ceremonial event, Lex Delles, Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism of Luxembourg, said: “Vodafone’s decision to establish its pan-European logistics hub in Luxembourg reinforces our position as a sustainable and innovative logistics platform at the heart of Europe.
"It demonstrates Luxembourg’s ability to attract leading international investments and drive the green transformation of our infrastructure.
"It also underlines the confidence global companies place in our country’s economic dynamism and stability.”
Shaping the future of telecommunications supply chains
For telecommunications businesses and partners, Vodafone’s investment in the logistics hub signals a commitment to building a more resilient, agile and sustainable supply chain.
Vodafone is setting new standards for logistics excellence in the sector by centralising operations, leveraging digital innovation and prioritising environmental responsibility.
As the facility moves towards completion in early 2026, industry stakeholders can expect enhanced service levels, reduced lead times and a supply chain model designed to meet the evolving demands of the European telecommunications market.
