Why Has Sunrise Appointed Andreas Tolpeit as its New CFO?

Andreas Tolpeit will join Swiss telco Sunrise on 16 August 2026, then become its new CFO and a member of the Sunrise Executive Committee on 1 September 2026.

Tolpeit succeeds Jany Fruytier, who will leave Sunrise on 31 August 2026 following a structured transition.

Jany is the intended CFO of the Ziggo Group, which, subject to completion of the transaction and customary approvals, will bring together VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands and Belgium's Telenet.

Jany has been in the role since December 2020. During this time, he executed and monitored the Sunrise–UPC merger integration plan.

He also led the financial strategy and execution of the Sunrise spin‑off from Liberty Global and its listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange in 2024.

New leader brings global expertise

Andreas brings extensive experience in financial management, strategy and digital transformation to his new role.

In his previous role, Andreas was CFO of Cognita, the global private schools group, where he improved its financial performance and substantially increased its margins.

During his tenure there, he was also responsible for technology and innovation, along with its AI strategy and driving its digital transformation.

A track record of strategic growth

Before this, Andreas worked at the Zurich-based Swiss company Jacobs Holding.

As Head of Investments, he led the development and scaling of international platforms in dental care and education.

In this role, he was responsible for developing corporate strategies, deal sourcing, due diligence, financing and delivering international investments and transactions.

Andreas holds a degree in Business Administration and Law from Università Bocconi in Milan.

He started his career in investment banking at Rothschild before moving into senior management and investor roles.

In his new role at Sunrise, Andreas will further strengthen its financial performance and support the consistent implementation of its strategy.
