How Amdocs Revolutionises Fibre Network Deployments with AI

Leading telecommunications company Amdocs has introduced a Next-Generation fibre offering to accelerate and streamline fibre deployment.
The telco’s expanded fibre offering is designed to simplify end-to-end fibre lifecycle management, whilst improving customer experience. Its robust framework and advanced automation capabilities aim to accelerate the planning, design, deployment and operation of fibre networks.
- A proven track record of designing over 1.2 million fibre route miles globally
- A large team of experts, leveraging modern program management tools to deliver faster deployments and maintain accountability throughout the process
With Amdocs’ industry prowess, service providers are hopeful the new rollout will offer more cost-effective deployment options.
This is part of a newly formed teaming agreement with IQGeo, a developer of geospatial network lifecycle management software for telecom and utility operators. Amdocs will integrate IQGeo’s network management software to its offering to enable service providers to visualise, update, and manage their network assets in real time, and to automate key aspects of the planning and design process.

Boosting AI performance
The new fibre offering from Amdocs is designed to offer superior performance. It integrates AI and generative AI (Gen AI) automation and real-time decision-making in business and operation support systems, processes and network assurance to improve customer service efficiency.
It also aims to drive faster deployment times of fibre and reduce the complexity of managing large-scale fibre projects.
- 30% faster deployment times for fibre rollouts
- Reduction of cabling and trenching by 10% or more
- Significant reduction in network management cost by seamlessly integrating existing systems, replacing manual processes and reducing errors & rework
Amdocs will also be providing zero-touch automation capabilities that streamline complex fibre deployment processes. As a result, service providers will be able to benefit from a unified future-ready solution that is able to support both greenfield and brownfield deployments, the company says.
This also allows service providers to optimise time-to-market, whilst reducing operational costs and improving network performance.
“We are excited to collaborate with Amdocs to deliver unmatched value to our mutual customers, providing the telecommunications industry with fibre solutions that help broadband operators achieve faster, more efficient fibre network deployment and operations,” says IQGeo CEO Richard Petti.
“Together, we will provide integrated software and services and innovative new use cases that are purpose-built for fibre network deployment and operations teams, to drive business growth and thrive for years to come.”
Supporting critical fibre deployments
The fibre market is at a pivotal moment worldwide and continues to grow at a rapid pace, particularly as digital transformation advances. The fibre optic connectivity market captured a valuation of US$3.1bn in 2023 and is expected to reach US$7.7bn by 2033, according to Future Market Insights.
AI is also starting to shape the future of connectivity by allowing operators to gain greater access to real-time data. As a result, Amdocs is eager to support fibre deployment via the growth of AI.
Earlier in 2024, the company partnered with leading AI chipmaker Nvidia to advance its Gen AI capabilities and boost network and digital transformation within the mobile and telco industry.
“As increasing their share of the growing broadband market with fibre offerings becomes increasingly critical to service providers around the globe, our fibre solutions will help service providers manage fibre deployment from inception to operations,” explains Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs.
“Service providers know that seamless connected experiences matter, and broadband is often critical to creating those experiences. Our enhanced offering, including IQGeo’s advanced network management capabilities, will help service providers achieve differentiated experiences for their customers more quickly and efficiently.”
