Introducing 5G connectivity reinforces Toyota’s commitment to customer-centric innovation, ensuring that navigation, safety and convenience features operate seamlessly.

Over-the-air software updates enable Toyota to continuously improve vehicle functionality, while low-latency 5G connections enhance response times for the “Hey Toyota” voice assistant and streamline navigation updates.

Connected services reach new levels

Toyota Connected Services, already a cornerstone of its digital strategy, gains further capabilities through AT&T 5G. Drivers can access features such as remote services, maintenance alerts and real-time traffic navigation with reduced delay.

For operators and service providers, the expanded connectivity opens avenues for delivering value-added digital services directly to vehicles, increasing engagement and generating potential revenue streams.

Brian Inouye, Chief Engineer at Toyota Motor North America

Brian Inouye, Chief Engineer at Toyota Motor North America, states: “Toyota is collaborating with AT&T to enhance our commitment to delivering innovative, customer-centric solutions.

"As we develop more connected vehicles, 5G sets the stage for future mobility innovations by enabling more engaging experiences for our customers.”

High-speed Wi-Fi enhances passenger experience

Integrating AT&T Connected Car enables passengers to connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices simultaneously at 5G speeds. The functionality supports high-speed streaming, gaming, browsing or remote work while on the move.

Select Toyota models feature SiriusXM with 360L, which blends satellite and streaming content to deliver a unified audio experience.

The service offers additional music channels, on-demand content, personalised “For You” recommendations and seamless discovery of related programming.

For the telecommunications sector, it represents a growing convergence of connectivity, entertainment and data-driven content delivery within vehicles.
