DE-CIX Rolls Out Google Gold Verified Peering in the US

DE-CIX has rolled out its Google Gold Verified Peering Provider (VPP) service across its major US Internet Exchanges (IXs), completing implementation in New York, Dallas, Chicago and Phoenix. It confirmed that the New York and Dallas deployments this week mark the service’s full US availability.
Through DE-CIX Dallas, networks connected to DE-CIX Mexico can make use of the service, extending access to Google’s ecosystem beyond the US market and supporting cross-border traffic exchange for networks linking into US peering hubs.
The Google Verified Peering Provider programme recognises Internet Exchanges and service providers that meet specific technical and performance requirements for connecting to Google’s global network. DE-CIX’s Gold status signifies that its Internet Exchange infrastructure meets Google’s highest tier of verification within the initiative.
Verified peering provider status strengthens interconnection
The Verified Peering Provider designation enables DE-CIX to provide reliable connectivity to Google’s applications and services at the network layer. It allows service providers, network operators and enterprise customers to access Google workloads and services through direct interconnection at DE-CIX’s facilities.
Smaller Internet service providers and regional operators that cannot meet Google’s direct peering requirements can now use DE-CIX’s platform to maintain network access to Google resources and Google Cloud workloads.
The option simplifies technical processes and removes administrative barriers for operators wishing to maintain consistent Google connectivity.
DE-CIX’s Layer‑3 service enables customers to connect to Google’s network without establishing separate peerings or BGP sessions, allowing operational efficiency across multi‑cloud and content distribution requirements.
The model supports telecommunications providers seeking to ensure service continuity for customers relying on Google-hosted workloads, including communication platforms and enterprise software services.
DE-CIX expands access for wholesale and enterprise users
The availability of DE-CIX’s Google Gold Verified Peering Provider service creates a pathway for wholesale and enterprise users to access Google resources with improved network resilience. Wholesale providers can now use DE-CIX’s infrastructure to deliver guaranteed connectivity to Google services at scale for customers.
For enterprises, DE-CIX offers dedicated access to Google Workspace, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) deployments and other Internet-facing applications hosted on Google Cloud.
The operator delivers the access through its Internet Exchange fabric, which connects carriers, ISP networks and enterprise systems directly to primary cloud services.
By adopting DE-CIX’s service, enterprises can connect to Google’s infrastructure via a single exchange point, rather than establishing multiple bilateral connections. The approach supports service integrity across sectors that depend on continuous data flow for their business operations.
US interconnection milestone
Brandon Ross, Senior Interconnection Consultant for the Americas at DE-CIX, says the rollout of the Google Verified Peering Provider service across all major US. IXs reflects its progress in advancing network interconnection. “We are delighted to have implemented our service as a Google Verified Peering Provider at our major IXs in the US and to be among the first IX providers globally to achieve Gold status in the program,” Brandon says.
He highlights the benefits for network providers serving Google-bound traffic. “We can now help network providers in the US deliver the best quality of connectivity to Google services, simply and effectively,” he says.
Brandon adds that the expansion of the service reinforces DE-CIX’s goal of simplifying interconnection between content, cloud and telecom networks through reliable exchange platforms in key markets.
