How TIM Enterprise is Accelerating Italy’s Digital Growth

TIM Enterprise, the largest ICT platform in Italy, is driving the nation’s digital transformation through a bold investment of US$1.16bn (€1bn) over three years, from 2025 to 2027.

Acting as the technological backbone of the TIM Group, it supports more than 30,000 business and public administration clients with advanced digital solutions that span cloud, edge computing, cybersecurity, AI, 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Growth-oriented investment strategy

Following an investment of US$406m (€350m) in 2024, TIM Enterprise’s ambitious plan expands its infrastructure significantly, targeting a total capital expenditure of approximately US$1.16bn (€1bn) by the end of 2027.

Central to the strategy is an extensive data centre infrastructure with 17 sites nationwide, featuring an installed capacity of 125 MW.

Among these, eight are certified Tier IV (or Rating IV), representing the highest reliability and accounting for half of Italy’s data centres at this level.

The plan includes developing a new “AI-ready” data centre facility and upgrading two others, alongside dedicating US$105m (€105m) specifically to expanding edge cloud capabilities; a crucial technology for delivering low-latency, resilient digital services increasingly demanded by the market.

Developed collaboratively with Leonardo, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and Sogei, the PSN offers critical, secure cloud services for government and other key sectors.
