Nokia and ALE Strengthen Alliance for Fibre Campus Networks

The enterprise networking sector is experiencing rising pressure to provide infrastructure that can underpin digital transformation while also meeting sustainability and resilience targets.
In response, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) and Nokia have reinforced their strategic alliance, uniting optical fibre technology with secure campus networking to serve critical industries as they navigate these complex requirements.
The partnership’s focus on resilience is highlighted by the work of its key executives. Rasheed Mohamad, Global Revenue and Operations Officer at ALE, is scheduled to speak at the Supply Chain Risk & Resilience Panel at Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE: The Net Zero Summit.
His discussion will cover how resilient supply chains are central to long-term sustainability. With over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, Rasheed brings extensive knowledge to the topic.
His career includes roles as Head of Business Operations for the ALE Network Business Division, alongside management positions in project management, R&D, and supply chain.
This background in telecommunications and manufacturing for companies like ALE and SFO Technologies, a NeST company, provides a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in building resilient networks.
When integrated into ALE's comprehensive network offering for in-building and campus connectivity, the technology offers advantages including lower energy consumption and a reduced total cost of ownership.
Deployments at Ikos Resorts in Greece, Pantai Jerudong Hospital in Brunei and Wembley Park in the UK show how this combined approach addresses the evolving requirements of modern campus networks.
Mission-critical infrastructure applications
The integration is particularly relevant for the logistics and infrastructure sectors, where the joint solution reduces energy consumption while offering mission-critical reliability for automated warehouses and transport networks.
Through features like virtual segmentation and automated asset discovery, businesses can securely modernise their operational technology (OT), which could ensure resilient connectivity for the complex networks of devices that power contemporary supply chains.
Sandrine El Khodry, EVP Global Sales & Marketing at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, explains: "By combining ALE's agile enterprise networking solutions with Nokia's carrier-grade infrastructure, we offer a comprehensive portfolio that addresses the unique needs of critical industries.
"Our partnership is built on trust, innovation and a shared commitment to customer success."
Advanced campus connectivity
ALE's advanced LAN and Wi-Fi provide automated solutions for efficient and secure device onboarding, supported by asset discovery and classification, virtual segmentation and continuous monitoring capabilities.
These features include Layer 2 services, HPOE and optional redundant uplinks, which are vital for maintaining robust network performance.
The partnership has enabled deployments across complex environments, including the hospitality sector. Resorts like Ikos are using the combined solution to connect hundreds of bedrooms across luxury all-inclusive sites.
With Nokia and ALE, Ikos was able to run guest services, closed-circuit television (CCTV), voice, Wi-Fi and building safety sensors through a single, high-availability network architecture. The fibre infrastructure also helped to save space and reduce the number of network layers required.
Global market positioning
As a market leader in optical fibre solutions and a trusted integrator in enterprise communications, Nokia and ALE have deployed their joint solution into more than 100 enterprises globally. This has helped them establish a track record across diverse sectors and geographical markets.
The partnership positions both companies to meet the evolving demands in critical industries that require robust, sustainable infrastructure capable of supporting digital transformation initiatives while maintaining operational resilience.
Matthieu Bourguignon, Senior Vice-President, Head of Europe at Nokia, says: "Our collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise allows us to deliver end-to-end, mission-critical solutions that go beyond traditional boundaries.
"We are proud of the joint successes we've achieved and look forward to enabling even more transformative projects together."
The combined offering addresses growing bandwidth requirements while reducing environmental impact through its energy-efficient fibre-based architecture. This approach supports businesses that are seeking to balance operational performance with sustainability objectives across their network infrastructure.
