SK Telecom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Arm and Rebellions to develop next-generation AI infrastructure, with a focus on telco network performance and efficiency.

The agreement centres on combining Arm’s AGI CPU with Rebellions’ RebelCard accelerator to support AI inference within AI data centres that underpin telco services.

The companies are planning to test and verify the combined solution inside SK Telecom’s AI data centres.

Littlebird and Lacuna Space: Connecting Safety Wearables

Littlebird is expanding its child safety technology through a new partnership with satellite IoT provider Lacuna Space, as it looks to strengthen connectivity for its screen-free wearable devices.

The two companies are extending the reach of Littlebird’s Precision+ safety network, including coverage in areas where traditional telco infrastructure is limited, like rural and remote regions.

Their approach reflects a growing telecoms trend: combining multiple connectivity layers to improve reliability and coverage.

Is Amazon on the Path to Rivalling SpaceX's Starlink?

There is no disputing SpaceX's position as the industry leader in satellite ownership.

The tech giant's subsidiary Starlink is responsible for 66% of active satellites in orbit, according to the latest estimate by Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

But could Amazon CEO Andy Jassy's plans knock the leader out off its perch?

Vodafone has launched Scam Call Protection, a new AI-driven feature designed to identify and flag potentially fraudulent calls before customers answer them.

The system is integrated into Vodafone’s Secure Net Mobile service, which operates at network level and works automatically in the background.

It works by monitoring and analysing incoming calls in real time, detecting unusual patterns and flagging high-risk numbers directly on a customer’s device.

Nokia’s decision to spin out its space communications venture, Modul8, marks a turning point in how the telco industry is extending connectivity beyond Earth.

As the company collaborates with Axiom Space to integrate its lunar surface communications system into NASA's Artemis III lunar spacesuit, called the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit, the decision carries historical significance.

The move is all made possible through Nokia's Definitive Agreement with Celestial Acquisition Corp, giving the business the focus and funding which is needed to compete in a rapidly evolving space economy.
