VodafoneThree signs a three-year extension with Get Connected, securing network access and retail jobs across Wales, the Midlands and the South West

VodafoneThree signs a new three-year extension to its partnership with mobile phone retailer Get Connected, confirming its status as the exclusive mobile network operator across more than 46 Get Connected stores.

These locations span Wales, the Midlands and the South West, offering Vodafone and Three contracts alongside support for existing customers.

Customers can continue to access handset and SIM Only plans from both brands, with the deal helping to maintain around 100 retail jobs across the region. The agreement also strengthens VodafoneThree’s in-store presence in areas where mobile services are key to daily connectivity.

Jon Shaw, Consumer Operations Director at VodafoneThree, says: “Our partnership with Get Connected has gone from strength-to-strength and the new exclusivity agreement is key to our retail presence in Wales.

“Working with trusted retail partners will help bring both Vodafone and Three brands to more people, offering customers more choice, greater value and access to the UK’s best network.”

Network investment supports retail focus

VodafoneThree links the extended agreement with a wider infrastructure plan, confirming a £11bn (US$15bn) investment to expand and upgrade its mobile network across the UK. Part of the investment also includes addressing 16,500km of so-called ‘not spots’ – areas without consistent mobile coverage – which the company says is an area almost the size of Wales.

The operator also aims to provide 5G SA to 99.96% of the UK population by 2034. Unlike earlier iterations of 5G, Standalone networks operate independently of 4G and offer improved speed, lower latency and better capacity. Ultimately, making them more suitable for both advanced consumer use and business applications.

With this rollout, VodafoneThree aligns its investment in coverage with an ongoing commitment to in-store service delivery, using retail to offer direct customer access to its growing network.

Customer service jobs return to the UK

Alongside the retail agreement, VodafoneThree announces that 400 customer contact roles are being brought back to the UK. Such a recruitment initiative is the company’s largest since the Vodafone and Three merger and underlines its intent to strengthen customer operations domestically.

By relocating these roles, VodafoneThree aims to improve service quality while increasing its UK-based support presence. The move also suggests an increased demand for local digital infrastructure capable of handling more customer interactions, which places greater value on scalable data centre capacity.

For the wider telecoms ecosystem, the link between in-country operations and infrastructure development signals a growing emphasis on domestic resilience and service control.

Retail outlook for Get Connected

The agreement between VodafoneThree gives Get Connected a dedicated supplier relationship for at least three years. The exclusive deal secures its operations and reinforces its role in bringing mobile services to towns and cities across Wales and neighbouring regions.

Damian Cole, CEO at Get Connected, says: “I am pleased to announce that I have just signed the agreement for three years. This partnership will give us access to more products and means that the business is now secure for at least the next three years.”

Their partnership ensures that Get Connected continues to provide Vodafone and Three products in-store, while offering direct support for customers navigating network changes or upgrading services.

As VodafoneThree expands both its digital and physical footprint, the Get Connected relationship supports a hybrid approach to customer engagement.

The in-store model offers a tangible point of contact in areas where digital access is limited or where face-to-face support is preferred.

By combining regional job creation, exclusive retail agreements and network investment, VodafoneThree strengthens its reach across the UK while supporting Get Connected’s long-term retail strategy.
