Telehouse Thailand & NT Elevate ASEAN Digital Connectivity

Telehouse Thailand and National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) have forged a strategic partnership to bolster Thailand’s digital infrastructure by enhancing high-capacity international data transmission through submarine cable systems.
The collaboration targets the strengthening of the country’s telecommunications backbone and supports accelerated digital transformation efforts across both public and private sectors.
Enhancing Thailand’s digital backbone
NT stands as Thailand’s premier integrated telecommunications and digital service provider.
Its extensive network infrastructure includes terrestrial fibre, seven international submarine cable systems, satellite communications and wireless technologies, delivering comprehensive connectivity solutions domestically and internationally.
Telehouse Thailand, a subsidiary of global data centre provider KDDI Corporation, brings more than three decades of expertise in delivering carrier-neutral, reliable and interconnected data centre services.
With more than 45 sites across 10 countries and partnerships spanning more than 1,000 network providers worldwide, Telehouse provides vital infrastructure for carriers, cloud providers, content companies and financial services firms.
Through the partnership, NT’s submarine cable network now links directly to the fully operational Telehouse Bangkok facility.
The connection enables Telehouse Thailand to offer seamless access to major international submarine cable systems, including the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) and Asia America Gateway (AAG).
The ADC connects key Asian markets such as China, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The regions host significant data centre infrastructure for leading cloud and content providers.
The AAG extends the regional network all the way to the United States, connecting major global economies.
Strengthening connectivity and resilience
NT’s domestic submarine cable system adds further robustness to the network by providing alternative routing via the Thailand Gulf coast to international cable landing stations in Songkhla and Satun.
The design enhances network resilience and ensures reliable global reach across multiple regions, critical for uninterrupted digital services and international business continuity.
“This collaboration expands Thailand’s business potential and telecommunications readiness in the AI era.”
Ken Miyashita, Managing Director of Telehouse Thailand, highlights the operational benefits: “Leveraging NT’s submarine cable network, a core element of Thailand’s telecommunications infrastructure, enables our customers to efficiently handle the huge volumes of data traffic from Gen AI and cloud services, which are expected to grow significantly.
"As Bangkok’s leading carrier-neutral interconnection data centre, Telehouse further strengthens this submarine connectivity and high service availability with the four diverse incoming fibre routes.”
By integrating NT’s extensive cable systems with Telehouse’s data centre capabilities, the partnership provides domestic content providers and internet service providers (ISPs) seamless access to a range of international networks, ensuring efficient, scalable and secure data exchange.
The infrastructure supports a rapidly growing demand for cloud computing, video streaming, online gaming and emerging AI applications.
Advancing Thailand’s ASEAN Digital Hub vision
Beyond private-sector benefits, the alliance supports the Thai government’s vision to establish Thailand as an ASEAN Digital Hub.
The partnership facilitates regional digital transformation, encouraging global investment and enabling connectivity growth not only within Thailand but across Southeast Asia.
